Burma is one of the poorest countries in the world.

It is ruled by one of the world’s most brutal regimes, guilty of every possible human rights violation.

It also has one of the worst records of religious persecution in the world.

“The quest for democracy is the struggle of a people to live whole, meaningful lives as free and equal members of the world community.”
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, democratically-elected leader of Burma.

Change for Burma petition:
5323 signatures collected!

Burma is ruled by one of the world’s most brutal regimes, guilty of every possible human rights violation.  As recently as February this year, the Burma Army launched fresh attacks on Karen villagers.

Change for Burma! is calling for the United Nations to initiate a Commission of Inquiry into crimes against humanity committed by the military regime.

And, after many years of lobbying, campaigning and prayer, we are seeing signs of breakthrough for Burma.  The UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights recommended that the United Nations establish a Commission of Inquiry into crimes against humanity, and the British and Australian Governments have announced their support of these calls. We are delighted with this news and urge the British Government to devote energy and resources to building an international coalition to take this forward.

Thank you so much to those of you who signed the Change for Burma! petition and circulated it in your church – we are delighted to report that we collected 5323 signatures in total. Standing together with one voice you are showing the UK Government your support for the people of Burma and your desire to see the international community take action to end the suffering of the people of Burma.

Raise your voice for change today!
