Church Zone

Welcome to a feast of resources that will equip your church to support the persecuted!  We want to point you to the right resources whatever your role in church life using the headings below.  If you are a church leader, we have interesting and engaging resources for you and your church.   And if  you don’t have a specific role in church we’d encourage you to enthusiastically bring these resources to your church leaders’ attention - because CSW’s materials could turn out to be a great help in serving your church family.

If  this  isn’t exciting enough, in supporting persecuted believers using CSW’s expertise and resources you can really help to grow the faith of the UK Church!  So many of our existing supporters get in touch to say how their faith is grown when they know more about persecuted believers.

So enjoy these resources and if you have any queries give the team a call on 0845 456 5464 or email admin@csw.org.uk.

I am a....

Church leader

People connect with people, which is why booking an experienced CSW speaker is a great way to educate and inspire your church about persecution.  If you want a focus country then take a look at the No Way Out campaign for Egypt running throughout 2011, with devotionals, updates, and prayer points.  And to spread the load, why not nominate someone as your church’s CSW Rep?  It could really grow them and excite others too.

Small group leader

Our address book for persecuted Christians and human rights works -  Connect & Encourage  –  will give your group the eye-opening chance to encourage persecuted Christians by writing them personalised cards.  There’s also a small group study in the International Day of Prayer (IDOP) Pack, and the chance to tangibly influence religious freedom by getting your group signing our Egypt Campaign No Way Out petition.

Church newsletter/website team

Highly recommended is the Prayer Diary giving you prayer points to drag-and-drop straight into your newsletter or website.  To hear CSW at events and other churches near you, we’ve got all the details you need summarised on the events page.  Lastly and perhaps the most stress-free, we’re producing specially-written articles for you to drop straight into your church newsletter, website and denominational publications!  No editing needed.

Prayer co-ordinator

Your first port-of-call should be the daily Prayer Diary, a mainstay for the whole of CSW.  If you’re interested in praying creatively then make sure you get hold of the prayer posters and ideas in the International Day of Prayer (IDOP) pack.  And whatever your church or prayer group’s style, a big prayer focus for 2011 should be around the Egypt prayer points featured in our No Way Out campaign.

Youth/Children’s leader

Get your teenagers and kids engaging directly with persecuted believers through card-writing using Connect & Encourage!  If it’s ready-made youth group studies you need, then look no further than Outcry, with creative ideas and session outlines.  And for your Sunday school there’s a special activity set including colouring-in within our International Day of Prayer (IDOP) pack.

Invite a speaker

Inviting one of our speakers is one of the best ways to find out more about religious persecution, how CSW works and how you and your church can partner with us to be a ‘voice for the voiceless’.

Support and prayer groups

In addition to prayer, support groups often actively lobby government leaders as well as send cards of encouragement to individuals supported by CSW who are either in prison or persecuted for their faith.

Meeting with others is both hugely encouraging and effective. Why not join or set up a support group in your area?
