Focus Eritrea: Speak up to see human rights upheld for the people of Eritrea
Focus Eritrea, launched in May 2009, shines a spotlight on the human rights crisis engulfing Eritrea.
With 75% of the population malnourished, a maze of detention centres and prisons spreading across the country, thousands of young Eritreans risking their lives to flee Eritrea to escape persecution and around 3,000 Christians imprisoned, we believe the time for change has come. The time has come for us to stand in solidarity with the people of Eritrea and speak up for their rights.
Over the coming months you will have the chance to take action on their behalf and use your freedoms to bring change to a whole nation. |
To understand what life is like for Christian prisoners in Eritrea, why not watch our latest Eritrea video to hear their testimonies firsthand. The video will open in your computer's media player.

Here’s how you can get involved…
Pray
If you are in the Birmingham area on 24 May, why not attend a prayer day for Eritrea hosted by CSW, the Evangelical Alliance and Release Eritrea.
Take part in our prayer month and raise your voice in prayer for Eritrea. Why not organise a prayer time in your church or house group using our prayer resources and see change happen. |
Protest
Sign our petition to the EU Presidency to express your concern at the recent decision by the European Union (EU) to unconditionally release development funding to the government of Eritrea.
We are also urging the EU Presidency to ensure that the human rights crisis in Eritrea is placed firmly on the European agenda and features prominently in dialogues with the Eritrean Government. |
Provide
Give a vital lifeline to Eritrean refugees in Kenya by buying a CSW Unique Gift for friends or family. The gift you buy will greatly assist refugees in Nairobi by covering their basic living costs for one week.
Be part of the life-changing advocacy work in Eritrea and make a regular donation to help CSW’s vital advocacy go even further. |
Together, we can see freedom for the people of Eritrea.
