This will enable CSW’s local contacts in Nairobi to reach out to Eritrean refugees in dire need and give them the resources they need to get back on their feet.
There are approximately eight to ten thousand Eritrean refugees living in Nairobi, who have fled the severe oppression in their homeland. The majority of these refugees have no official status and therefore aren’t allowed to work or earn a living. They are also frequently harrassed by the security forces and the police.
CSW supports the work of Ebenezer Church in Nairobi. The church reaches out to Eritrean refugees even though many church members are in desperate circumstances themselves. They provide a strong, sharing community for refugees, who receive no other support.
This gift will help to equip and assist Eritrean refugees to support themselves and make a new life in Nairobi.
