International Day of Prayer for the persecuted Church: 6 November 2011

The LORD works righteousness   and justice for all who are oppressed. Psalm 103:6

More than 25 pastors are killed in Colombia every year, simply because they lead churches. Right now there are over 2,000 Christians in prison in Eritrea, just because they’re Christians. And in Iran there’s a stifling climate of fear among Christians, as they’re routinely arrested for no reason other than their faith.

Our strongest weapon against these injustices has always been prayer. So on 6 November 2011, Christians around the world will unite for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP). We’d like to invite you to be part of this very special day!

This is a great opportunity for the body of Christ to unite in lifting to God the plight of our brothers and sisters who suffer just for being Christian.  We’ve got some resources to help you do this with your church – just select the resources you’d like from the list opposite to customise your very own IDOP pack!
