Eritrea Protest Vigil 2017

26 Apr 2017

Join us to protest repression in Eritrea

On Thursday 18 May CSW will join Human Rights Concern Eritrea, Release Eritrea, Church in Chains and the British Orthodox Church to protest the continuing repression in Eritrea.

The Eritrean government is one of the most repressive regimes in the world and produces many of the world’s refugees. Tens of thousands of Eritreans of all faiths and none have been detained without trial or charge, often in such makeshift facilities as shipping containers, or are simply held in open air pens in the desert.

Join us on 18 May, the 15th anniversary of the start of severe restrictions on churches, to let the world know we haven’t forgotten about Eritrea.

Eritrea protest vigil

Thursday 18 May, 3.30-4.30pm

Opposite the Eritrean Embassy, 96 White Lion St, London N1 9PF

The Story of Helen Berhane:
Helen is an Eritrean gospel singer who spent 32 months imprisoned by the Eritrean authorities in a shipping container. Freezing cold at night and burning hot by day, and even tortured, Helen chose to worship. In her wilderness, God gave her a new song.
