CSW has welcomed the appointment of Reverend Yunusa Nmadu as full-time CEO of CSW-Nigeria (CSW-N) from 1 June.
Reverend Nmadu established CSW-N in 2008 and has led the organization in a voluntary capacity while also working full time as a pastor, and latterly serving as the General Secretary of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Nigeria from 2017-2023.
CSW’s international CEO Scot Bower said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Reverend Yunusa to the CSW team in a full-time capacity and look forward to working closely with him as a member of the international strategic leadership team. Rev. Yunusa has led CSW in Nigeria for over a decade, however in this new full-time role I am confident that he will add capacity to our Nigeria team at a time when it is most needed, bring vision and leadership to our work in the wider region, and help CSW grow as an authentic and effective justice-focused advocacy organisation. We give thanks for his faithful service as General Secretary of ECWA for the past six years, and look forward to working with him as we continue to advocate for the rights and protection of vulnerable religious and belief communities in Nigeria and across the continent.’
Reverend Nmadu added: ‘Although I have been with the CSW family in a voluntary capacity since 2008 after setting up the Nigeria office, I am pleased and excited to become a full-time member of staff. My dream for CSW is for it to expand to address global challenges to the right of freedom of religion or belief, especially in Africa. I look forward to contributing towards this, as I give my best. I also look forward to enjoying harmonious working relationships with staffers and partners.’
