It’s been many heart-breaking decades of civil war in Colombia, and the flood of violence hasn’t left the Church untouched. Between 25 and 30 church leaders are assassinated every year, simply for taking a stand against the rebels because of their faith. But CSW has been working with the Church in Colombia for years, equipping them to take a stand against what they’ve suffered for so long.

THIS WEEK, PLEASE:

• Lift up the government of Colombia to God. Ask Him to bless each official and give them a longing for justice in their country, and the wisdom to make that happen.
• Pray that God will change the hearts of leaders of the armed groups in Colombia, so that they will see a way to work towards peace.
• Pray that individual guerilla soldiers will be moved to lay down their weapons and refuse to fight any more.
• Pray for Christians who have lost loved ones to the conflict, that they would be able to forgive the attackers and find comfort in God.
• Pray that everyone who has suffered persecution would have the courage to speak up about their experiences so that the truth can be known.
• Ask God to pour out His comfort and peace on those who are still struggling with the effects of the trauma they’ve experienced.
• Thank God for the courage and faith of the people CSW met who have lost everything but still have hearts of praise.
