But they are more closely connected than you might think.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may already know that the conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has plunged Sudan into one of the world\u2019s most severe humanitarian crises, where abuses by both parties against civilians may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While each warring party is backed by various international actors, there is credible evidence that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to provide extensive military and financial support to the RSF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheikh Mansour is vice-president and deputy prime minister of the UAE, as well as the president\u2019s brother. He is well-placed to intervene in the UAE\u2019s role in this conflict.
