{"id":26316,"date":"2016-12-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csw-yeo.1wp.site\/prayer\/prayer-diary-chile-3321\/"},"modified":"2026-09-18T21:57:01","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T20:57:01","slug":"prayer-diary-chile-3321","status":"publish","type":"prayer","link":"https:\/\/www.csw.org.uk\/es\/prayer\/prayer-diary-chile-3321\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Diary: Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chile is one of the newer countries we\u2019re working in: though human rights are generally protected, there has been a spate of attacks on churches, mainly in the La Araucan\u00eda region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Sunday 25 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As churches gather to celebrate Christmas, let\u2019s pray for the congregations whose buildings have been burned down and must find somewhere else to worship today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Monday 26 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chilean government was initially reluctant to launch an investigation into the attacks: they have now started searching for the culprits and following up leads, so let\u2019s thank God today for this positive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Tuesday 27 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Though an investigation has been launched into these attacks, and some arrests have been made, the arson incidents continued into the second half of this year. Please pray that they would stop soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Wednesday 28 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the more recent attacks in Chile have gone further than arson attacks on churches, with violence against the congregation. Pray that this new trend would stop completely, and there would be no more attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Thursday 29 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The churches remaining in the La Araucan\u00eda region are obviously very afraid now that their church might be next in line for an attack \u2013 please pray that God would comfort and protect them, and that they would know His presence very strongly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Friday 30 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re just starting our work in Chile, and we are hoping to gather more information to help the churches there: please pray that God would provide the resources to do so, to make our work even more effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Saturday 31 December<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Father God, today we bring the nation of Chile to you in prayer. Please watch over all the people who have already been affected, and those who now live in fear of an attack: send angels to protect these churches and bring the perpetrators to justice soon.
