Pray that God would protect CSW\u2019s advocates and contacts in the country, bringing breakthroughs in the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Monday 12 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philippians 2:3-4 says: \u2018Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.\u2019 Pray that God would miraculously grow these qualities of good and selfless leadership in the hearts of Vietnam\u2019s government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Tuesday 13 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venerable Kim Som Rinh (a Khmer-Krom monk) is a respected leader known for advocating for religious and cultural rights. He was arrested in March 2025 alongside two activists: Thach Nga and Thach Xuan Dong. Pray that the unjust charges of \u2018abusing democratic freedoms\u2019 would be dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Wednesday 14 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask God to draw near to a Catholic house church in Th\u00e1i Nguy\u00ean province (northern Vietnam). For unknown reasons, the police raided the home during Mass on 11 August 2025. Three people were taken to the police station but were thankfully released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Thursday 15 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Call on the Lord to protect those who are still being harassed and intimidated by police, even after fleeing Vietnam. We think especially of Hmong and Montagnard Christians seeking asylum in Thailand. Many refugees in Bangkok have reported being visited at their homes by Vietnamese plain-clothed police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Friday 16 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A year ago today, police in Ho Chi Minh City arrested a 71- year-old Protestant pastor for \u2018spreading anti-state propaganda\u2019 on social media. Pastor Nguyen Manh Hung is an activist and advocate for freedom of religion or belief. Surround him and his congregation in prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Saturday 17 January<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear God, we pray today that the Vietnamese authorities would investigate cases of wrongful imprisonment. Lord, bring freedom for everyone detained because of their religion or belief, or for peacefully defending the rights of others.
