It found that freedom of religion or belief is systematically violated throughout the country\u2019s prison system \u2013 from the denial of access to religious literature (including Bibles), to the prohibition of congregating with other prisoners to practise one\u2019s religion or belief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also exposed how the Cuban government views freedom of religion or belief not as an inherent right, but as a \u2018benefit\u2019 which can be extended or withdrawn arbitrarily. It is therefore often weaponised to coerce prisoners into cooperating with the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report is based on testimonies from 181 prisoners serving sentences in five different provinces. Many of them shared specific prayer requests with us, which we invite you to pray this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><i>\u2018May all those unjustly imprisoned be released and may our rights be respected.\u2019<\/i><\/b> Pray for the release of all political prisoners, including those held because of their religious beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><i>\u2018May he protect my family because I know that God\u2019s timing is perfect.\u2019<\/i><\/b> Ask God to comfort and provide for families as they wait for their loved ones to come home. \u2018Thank you for giving me the patience and strength to move forward.\u2019 Give thanks that God is with all Christians in Cuba, in or out of prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><i>\u2018May he grant me much knowledge so I can continue serving him.\u2019<\/i><\/b> Pray for churches as they meet vital needs in their communities, particularly around the anniversary of the 11 July 2021 protests, when the government often increases restrictions on religious groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><i>\u2018If I could ask God for anything, it would be freedom; that he change those who govern.\u2019<\/i><\/b> Ask God to bring about miraculous regime change in Cuba \u2013 in heart, personnel, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Key date: 11 July 2026<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This marks five years since unprecedented, peaceful protests swept Cuba, to which the authorities responded with force.
