But in reality, there are threats, violence, discrimination and more. Families in some indigenous communities have been forced from their homes, and children have been denied education. People have even had their water and electricity cut off. Pray that the law would be upheld in every region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Monday 3 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We haven\u2019t forgotten Pastor Aar\u00f3n M\u00e9ndez Ruiz and his colleague Alfredo, abducted seven years ago today. Pastor Aar\u00f3n ran a migrant shelter on the US border, protecting and supporting vulnerable migrants and asylum seekers. Watch our short film to help you pray: csw.org.uk\/TheDisappeared<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Tuesday 4 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pray for a thorough investigation into the disappearance of Benito Guevara Arcos. The 79-year-old missionary had travelled to preach and give out Bibles in San Vicente, Guerrero State, when he was forced into a car by armed men from an organised criminal group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Wednesday 5 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Protestant and Roman Catholic leaders are under pressure from organised criminal groups which extort churches \u2013 attempting to coerce them into paying protection money or allowing their churches to be used for money laundering. Pray for wisdom and divine protection, especially for those who resist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Thursday 6 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juan Nicol\u00e1s, a pastor\u2019s assistant from Hidalgo, was among a large group of Protestant Christians who were displaced from their villages in 2024. He asks you to pray for his family and community as they rebuild their lives in a new state, and for spiritual strength to move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Friday 7 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Angelina, Maria Francisca and Valentina are three women who shared their stories for our 2022 report: \u2018Let her be heard\u2019. Ask God to uplift them today, and change the story for women who face injustice because of their gender, as well as their beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Saturday 8 August<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your words can bring hope to people facing injustice for their beliefs \u2013 including those you\u2019ve been praying for this week.
