{"id":30973,"date":"2026-03-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csw-yeo.1wp.site\/reports\/hrc61-oral-statement-during-general-debate-under-agenda-item-4-6757\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T19:43:51","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T18:43:51","slug":"hrc61-oral-statement-during-general-debate-under-agenda-item-4-6757","status":"publish","type":"reports","link":"https:\/\/www.csw.org.uk\/es\/reports\/hrc61-oral-statement-during-general-debate-under-agenda-item-4-6757\/","title":{"rendered":"HRC61: Oral Statement during General Debate under Agenda Item 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1d3f012079d02c1f36f25897c1b3c155.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Item 4:<\/b>General Debate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Speaker:<\/b>Ellis Heasley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you Mr President,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This statement is dedicated to the 12 religious and social leaders that have been killed or kidnapped by illegal armed or criminal groups in Colombia since December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is dedicated to Pastor Marlon Lora, shot and killed alongside his wife and two adult children whilst they were having lunch in Cesar Department on 29 December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is dedicated to Pastor Iv\u00e1n Garc\u00eda, killed in front of his 14-year-old stepdaughter whilst walking home from a Bible study in Magdalena Department on 8 January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is dedicated to James Caicedo, Oscar Garc\u00eda, Isa\u00edd G\u00f3mez, Maryuri Hern\u00e1ndez, Nixon Pe\u00f1alosa, Maribel Silva, Carlos Valero and Jesus Valero whose bodies were discovered in a mass grave in Guaviare Department on 1 July 2025, three months after each disappeared on complying with summonses from a local armed group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is dedicated to Father Carlos Sa\u00fal Jaimes Guerrero, who was forcibly disappeared on 17 June 2025 in Cundimarca.
