Heavenly Father, thank You for the signs of hope we have seen in Burma in the past year, and we pray that these will grow steadily into the good future you have planned for Burma.

Give thanks that the National League for Democracy won 43 of 45 parliamentary seats in the by-elections and pray for wisdom for Aung San Suu Kyi and her party as they decide their next steps.

This week, please:

• Pray for the Mon, Shan, Chin, Karenni, Karen, Arakan and Rohingya peoples who still face hardship and oppression.
• Pray for Burma’s President, Thein Sein, that he will take steps towards true peace and democratic reform in Burma.
• Pray for our team at CSW, that the human rights concerns we highlight will reach the hearts and minds of political leaders around the world.
• Pray for the young people of Burma, that they will have the courage and tenacity to stand up for freedom and change, and that God would stand with them.
• Pray for peace in Kachin State where the Burma army is killing, torturing and terrorizing thousands of unarmed civilians in their homes and paddy fields. Pray also that God would protect the many families who have had to leave everything and are now refugees.
