We ask now that You would prosper this nation with peace, cohesion, good harvests and rapid developments in education and healthcare so that the basic needs of the people can be met.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This week, please pray:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Pray for resolution of all outstanding issues between the Republic of Sudan (in the north) and the Republic of South Sudan, leading to a lasting peace, especially along the contentious border.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray that the drafting of the new constitution for the Republic of Sudan would be inclusive and transparent, with a positive outcome for Christians and all religious minorities.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray that all southerners living in the Republic of Sudan would be granted the option of dual citizenship.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray that leaders of the churches in the Republic of Sudan would be blessed with wisdom and fortitude as they lead their flocks under a hostile government.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray that Khartoum would cease its oppressive activities in various regions, including Darfur, Abyei, South Kordofan and Blue Nile State, and that peace would reign.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray that the church in South Sudan would prosper and be a beacon of light and hope, especially to the many Sudanese who have been displaced from their homes due to conflict.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Lord, You are our peace and our restoration. We ask that You would comfort those who have suffered in the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan this year; we lift to You especially the many individuals who have lost family members and friends, and those who have been forced from their homes. Be their strength and comfort, we pray.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Pray for stability in South Sudan and for a plentiful harvest.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lord, we thank and praise You that South Sudan gained its independence in July, bringing freedom to these people.
