{"id":26570,"date":"2021-11-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csw-yeo.1wp.site\/prayer\/pray-for-the-children-5478\/"},"modified":"2026-09-18T21:57:50","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T20:57:50","slug":"pray-for-the-children-5478","status":"publish","type":"prayer","link":"https:\/\/www.csw.org.uk\/zh\/prayer\/pray-for-the-children-5478\/","title":{"rendered":"Pray for the children"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/3bf2ebfd58c90c416e90ebe62ee15d65.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sad truth is that the issues we work on don\u2019t just affect adults &#8211; children also suffer discrimination, harassment and worse, because of what they believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week, as we mark World Children\u2019s Day on 20 November, bring the children we\u2019ve mentioned here before God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pray your own prayers over these children, asking our Heavenly Father to protect and bless them, and deliver them from all evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Kevin from Mexico<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">was just eight years old in 2018 when he and his family were forced to leave their home in Chiapas State because of their faith. It\u2019s always been his dream to be a doctor one day, but being uprooted from his home meant that he missed over a year of schooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But in September 2019, Kevin went back to school! Pressure from an international campaign. and lobbying by a local organisation, meant that Kevin was able to resume his education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Chang Weiping\u2019s son<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">is only seven, and he and his mother are being harassed at home because of who his father is. His mother said he is &#8216;scared to the point of insomnia\u2026He even asks what he would do if the police hold a gun to his head.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His father, Chang Weiping, is a Chinese human rights defender who was arrested last year and has been charged with \u2018subversion\u2019, purely for his human rights work. Chang has defended members of the banned spiritual movement Falun Gong, and Christians who attend unregistered \u2018house\u2019 churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Farzana Khan<sup>1<\/sup> is an Ahmadi Muslim teenager in Pakistan.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She told us, \u2018A few of the children in my school told the other students, \u201cShe is Ahmadi, don\u2019t play with her or eat with her, and stop treating her normally.\u2019\u2019 They punished me, they used to strike me with sticks, and tell me not to sit with the other kids.
