{"id":26646,"date":"2023-04-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csw-yeo.1wp.site\/prayer\/prayer-diary-egypt-5991\/"},"modified":"2026-09-18T21:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T20:58:09","slug":"prayer-diary-egypt-5991","status":"publish","type":"prayer","link":"https:\/\/www.csw.org.uk\/zh\/prayer\/prayer-diary-egypt-5991\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Diary: Egypt"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/8fea01a7b1a7242882f1be4e05dcf652.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To this day, no one has been held accountable for an attack on an elderly Christian woman in the village of Al-Karm, which happened nearly seven years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 20 May 2016, Mrs Suad Thabet was brutally beaten and stripped in public by a mob after her son was accused of having a relationship with a divorced Muslim woman. In January 2023, the three men accused of attacking Mrs Thabet were acquitted by the Court of Appeal of the charges levelled against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This latest verdict is final; it cannot be appealed. It indicates that religion-related impunity remains deeply rooted in Egypt, even in its highest court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u4e86\u89e3\u8be6\u60c5\u8bf7\u8bbf\u95ee<b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csw.org.uk\/zh\/our_work_country_egypt.htm\/\" target=\"_blank\">csw.org.uk\/egypt<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read through Psalm 82, in which God condemns unjust judgements and champions the cause of those who are treated unfairly. Use the verses to inspire your prayers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>For an end to sectarian violence and the pervasive culture of impunity.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>For religious communities who are denied justice, places of worship, or other fundamental rights.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>For wisdom for those in authority, that they would be impartial and treat all citizens equally.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Psalm 82<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God presides in the great assembly;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">he renders judgment among the \u2018gods\u2019:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Defend the weak and the fatherless;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rescue the weak and the needy;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">deliver them from the hand of the wicked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018The \u2018gods\u2019 know nothing, they understand nothing.
