The ceremony was reportedly overlaid\u202fwith a silent anti-dictatorship protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resulting explosions from two 120 mm mortar shells immediately killed over\u202f40 people and severely wounded around 50 others. According to initial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JX9CFreFlqw\">\u62a5\u544a<\/a>, the\u202fdeceased include children under the age of ten, as well as teachers and\u202fstudents involved in the civil disobedience movement (CDM) against the military\u202fjunta. Survivors and witnesses described the\u202fhorrible aftermath of the explosions, saying that victims&#8217; bodies were\u202fmutilated and dismembered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CSW\u2019s CEO Scot Bower said: <b><i>\u2018This\u202fbrutal aerial assault on a peaceful vigil is a\u202fdeliberate attack on the fundamental principles of freedom of religion or\u202fbelief and basic human dignity. Myanmar\u2019s military generals have taken advantage of the country\u2019s ongoing\u202fpolitical crisis to launch a campaign of terror against civilians and their\u202fbeliefs. The horrific nature of the casualties cannot be ignored.
