The report, <i>A Case to Answer, a Call to Act<\/i>, set out the case for urgent action to address human rights abuses and called on the UN General Assembly to establish a commission of inquiry (COI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014 the COI produced a comprehensive report which concluded that the \u2018gravity, scale and nature\u2019 of the violations of human rights in North Korea \u2018reveal a State that does not have any parallel in the contemporary world.\u2019 Following the report, the UN Human Rights Council passed a strong resolution on the issue which included a request for the Security Council to take action.
