At CSW, we want you to we want you to feel confident about the online privacy and security of personal information you may give us. This policy explains how we collect information about you and how we use it. Collecting information from you
CSW subscribes to the principles of data protection legislation as required in the United Kingdom. When you visit our website and we ask you for personal information, you are sharing that information only with CSW for the express purpose of fulfilling your requests. It may be necessary to make your personal data known to CSW staff in order to do this, but we never disclose, rent or sell any of your personally identifiable information to others, unless we have your full permission, or there is a legal requirement for us to do so. The only exception to this is when you are using our secure online pages to give CSW a gift, or you are going through to a partner company to purchase items like books or videos. In order for such transactions to be completed, information like your credit card number and contact details is required by the company processing your payment. We always show you when you are being transferred to another site, and credit card transactions are always processed via a secure website.
For example, you are passed to the secure World Pay site when giving a gift online, and it is made clear on the ‘Give Online’ page when you are being transferred. Similarly, our book and video partner company, St Andrews Bookshop, will also ask for information from you on its secure website and give you the option to browse its own stock. Again, we make it clear when you are going through to the St Andrews Bookshop site.
Collecting other details
CSW may also collect non-personal information about you automatically. This could include information about the type of web browser you use, or the link you followed to our site. On a regular basis, we also count the number of visitors to our website how many visitors we serve and what pages they look at most. We use this kind of information to help us improve our service to our website visitors and supporters. In all cases, such information is aggregated, and no single user can be identified from any of this information.

Once we receive information from you, we do everything we can to make sure that it is secure on our system. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. Because of this, CSW cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.
