Prayer Diary - Easter 2 - Pray Justice

27 Mar 2016

This Easter, we're praying for justice for the persecuted Church. In our second week, please:

  • Pray for Hamdy Makanoty, a Coptic Christian from Alexandria who has been banned from attending his local church and returning to his home.
  • The Christian community in Aceh, Indonesia, needs your prayers after an outbreak of violence where several churches were burned down and a man was killed. Rebuilding churches will be difficult, as government regulations make it very hard to get permission.
  • Pray for a group of Protestants from a village called Los Llanos in Mexico. They were driven out of their village in 2010, and an attempt to resettle them in 2013 ended in another violent expulsion. They’re still awaiting justice.
  • Please pray for Tesfay, an Eritrean refugee who fled to the UK after experiencing extreme torture and imprisonment due to his Christian faith.
  • Please pray for Pastors Kpa Y Co and Ksor Y Du, two Vietnamese pastors who were released from prison in 2015. Although they are now free, their mental and physical health is poor and they will likely take a while to recover.
  • Thank God for justice after 30 years for the victims of the Calliqui killings in Peru.
  • The Maranatha First Baptist Church in Cuba is living under the threat of government confiscation of their building. Pray that they would be able to keep their place of worship.
