Filep Karma is just one of many Christians in prison today: some because of their faith, others because they are motivated by their faith to speak up for human rights.

Jesus came to “proclaim freedom for the prisoners”. Have mercy Lord, on all those who are in prison for their faith or for defending truth and justice. May faith sustain them and Your Spirit comfort them.

This week, please:

• Filep Karma in Indonesia, has served seven years of his fifteen-year sentence. Pray for God’s protection over him, particularly his health.
• Pray for Christians imprisoned in Iran, particularly for Pastor Benham Irani who is in urgent need of medical treatment.
• Pray for Dr Biscet who was released from prison in Cuba this year. Pray for him, and others like him, as he reintegrates into his family and society.
• Pray for the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance who represent religious minorities in Pakistan, including many prisoners charged with blasphemy.
• Pray for all those who aren’t knownto us by name, but who are suffering in prison because of their religious beliefs. Pray that they would feel the strength of our prayers today.
• Pray for prisoners around the world and those who are at risk of imprisonment for their faith or for defending justice and human rights. May God bless and protect them.
