Years of religious leaders teaching hatred towards religious minorities, in schools and through the media, has created a society in Pakistan that is seething with tension and fear. The threat of violence is everpresent for the Christian community.

Last month those tensions erupted again, when the bombing of two churches in Lahore on a Sunday left 19 dead and 70 injured. This isn’t the first time churches have been bombed or Christian communities attacked – and if the voices of religious hatred are left unchecked, it won’t be the last.

This week please:

• Ask God to send his Holy Spirit to comfort the victims of the Lahore bombings;
• Pray that those who were injured would recover quickly;
• Thank God for Michelle Chaudhry, one of our partners, who campaigns tirelessly for religious freedom;
• Pray for her work with Christian and Muslim children to ensure they don’t grow up hating each other;
• Ask God to calm the hearts of those who live in fear of attacks;
• Pray that the Retune campaign would see great success with challenging voices of religious hatred;
• Pray that religious leaders would be moved to preach peace rather than hatred.
