At the heart of CSW’s mission is Article 18 of 1the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which says:

‘Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.’

Put simply, if every country in the world put Article 18 into practice, CSW wouldn’t need to exist. So we’re trying to work ourselves out of a job – but we need you to help us!

Operation 18, CSW’s new campaign, will focus on Article 18. It covers your freedoms to choose a religion, to resist pressure to convert to another religion, and to share your faith openly with others.

Put simply we’ve coined this catchphrase: choose, refuse, enthuse. Operation 18 launched in March, so now’s the time to get involved. But please begin by supporting it in prayer – the lifeblood of everything we do.

This week please:

• Pray that Operation 18 would help shape the international debate about the right to ‘choose, refuse and enthuse’,
• Pray that enough funds are raised for the campaign to be effective; ask God to provide for CSW’s needs in every way,
• Pray that Operation 18 would be a turning point towards freedom for everyone who suffers because of their religious beliefs,
• Pray for wisdom for all of CSW’s staff involved in the campaign.
