As Christmas draws ever closer, it’s inevitable that we start thinking about gifts! That’s why this week we’re looking back at the gifts God has given us over the past year: and we think about those who aren’t expecting anything this year at all.

Gifts won’t get to those in prison, but a card might! Our Connect & Encourage resource contains a list of all the people who would love to hear from you. Today, choose a person to write to and send them a card, praying for them as you write.

Today, please join us in thanking God for everyone who donated to CSW so generously over the past year. We are always so grateful for donations of any amount: apart from prayer, it’s the very best way you can support our work.

Pray for those who won’t get to spend Christmas with their loved ones, such as Alimujiang Yimit in China. Ask God to bless and encourage them, and pray that they would miraculously have the opportunity to see their families.

Let’s pray for all the children who won’t be able to exchange gifts this year because they have been forced to leave their homes due to religious intolerance: particularly children in Mexico like Bartolo, who got kicked out of school because of his faith.

Today, please pray for our partners CSW-Nigeria: that God would gift them with the funds and support they need to carry out their vital work.

“And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6. As we remember the gift of Jesus at Christmas, pray that the gift of peace would come to those who celebrate in fear & in secret this year.

Lord, on Christmas Eve we thank you for the gift of your son who came to be with us. As families gather all over the world to celebrate, please comfort and encourage those who must observe tomorrow alone or in secret. Watch over them, we pray. Amen.
