As youll have seen in our cover story, Christians in Cuba continue to face oppression and threats from the government. Last autumn we were honoured to host Pastor Omar Gude Perez in the UK as part of our Pray Justice tour. He told audiences in packed churches around the country about his experiences in prison in Cuba, emphasising the importance of intercessory prayer in keeping him strong during that time.

Pastor Omar isn’t an isolated case, either. Reverend Yiorvis Bravo Denis, his nephew, remains under pressure from the Cuban government to surrender his home – which is also the headquarters of the Apostolic Church movement. The government claims that they own the building, even though it was transferred to Reverend Bravo Denis.

This week, please pray:

• That God would grant Reverend Bravo Denis favour with government officials as he struggles to keep his home;
• That the government’s attempts to evict the family would be unsuccessful;
• For safety for the whole family, during the times when government agents surround their house, shouting insults and throwing stones;
• For God to strengthen the many Cuban churches who are facing the confiscation of their property;
• For Maranatha First Baptist Church in the north-east of Cuba, who are also facing disputes with the government about the ownership of their building;
• That non-registered church groups in Cuba would be safe from government harassment;
• For the many Christians in Cuba who are intimidated by government agents to stop them attending church services.
