Connect & Encourage: China

Your words can bring hope, especially at Christmas. Write to someone facing injustice for their beliefs: csw.org.uk/ConnectEncourage

IMPORTANT:

1. Positive messages: Please don’t mention CSW in your cards to Chinese people, and do not make any comment about the government or the political system. This could endanger the person you are writing to.
2. Bible verses: Only write Bible verses by hand, as possession of printed Christian literature is illegal.
3. Card and envelope: Use a completely plain envelope. Choose a plain card without embellishments like ribbons, stickers or glitter, which can be rejected as a hazard.
4. Address: For the best chance of arrival, write the address in English and Chinese. Clearly state: ‘Going to China’. You can print these out from our website, or get in touch if you need help.
5. Postage: According to the Royal Mail, an international stamp costs £3.60 for a small letter. You could invite a friend to add their message, and share the cost of postage. The last posting date before Christmas is Friday 4 December, but please allow a couple more weeks when writing to people in prison.

UPDATE:

Thank you for writing to Pastor Li Jie and Elder Han Xiaodong. They were released in April having completed their sentences. Please keep them and the whole of Linfen Covenant Home Church in your prayers.

1. May the Lord bless you this Christmas. He is Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7). There is no end to his greatness, peace and love.

2. Dear [name], I am praying for you today from [your country]. Remember God’s promise: ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’ (John 1:5)

3. This Christmas, may you be encouraged that the Lord Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. He is with you today, and we continue to pray for you.
