North Korea

In March this year, the UN made a historic decision: to launch an official investigation into the widespread human rights violations in North Korea. We’ve campaigned for this Commission of Inquiry for many years, so this was a major milestone! But this is far from the end of the story in fact, it’s just the beginning.

The Middle East

The troubled Middle East region has long been a difficult place for Christians to live. The Arab uprisings of 2011 brought regime change in some countries in the area, but so far there have been few tangible improvements in the daily lives of Christians.

Eritrea

Last summer, after years of campaigning with supporters like you, we won a major victory for the Eritrean people. On 5 July 2012 the UN Human Rights Council voted to appoint a Special Rapporteur, an expert who will investigate the infamous human rights situation in Eritrea.

Leading a church is never easy. But when members of your congregation are risking their lives every time they come to church that’s a whole new challenge.

Eric Batista isn’t your ordinary 19-year-old Cuban. He’s a Christian refugee, and his family were forced to leave their home country because of the long campaign of government persecution they endured.

Persecutors

As well as the victims of religious persecution, let’s also remember those God loves just as much – the people who are responsible for this suffering.

Nigeria

The bloodshed continues in northern and central Nigeria, where for many Christians daily life consists of chronic discrimination and tension which periodically erupts into deadly organised violence. The Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, is responsible for ongoing attacks in these areas.

Alimujaing Yimiti in China

Imprisoned Chinese Christian, Alimujiang Yimiti, has unexpectedly had his family visits cut. The wife of the house church leader was told that her monthly visits will now be reduced to one visit every three months.

Pakistan

Rimsha Masih is only fourteen, but medical reports confirm that her mental age is even younger. The young Christian girl had been accused of blasphemy in August 2012, in a controversial case that attracted worldwide attention.
