Executive Summary

On the occasion of the upcoming UK-China human rights dialogue in April 2014, Christian Solidarity Worldwide wishes to draw attention to a number of key concerns relating to the right to freedom of religion or belief.

While there has been an improvement in the de facto level of religious freedom for some religious groups and individuals in many parts of the country, significant concerns remain:

• Registration and the law
• Ethnic minority areas
• Religious rights defenders
