24hrs of Prayer for Pakistan

Thank you for joining us as we pray for an end to religious hatred in Pakistan.

Feel free to be creative and pray as you feel led.

We have given each prayer slot a specific area of focus if you would like some ideas. Find out more:

Time slots 0:00 – 4:00 and 12:00 – 16:00

Political and religious leaders:

For God to raise up political leaders of all religions who will work for justice and truth;

For the Prime Minister and Cabinet to uphold their promises to protect religious minorities;

For the Minister for Human Rights and Minorities in Punjab Province

For Christians in prominent positions within Pakistani public life;

For all religious leaders to preach messages of religious tolerance rather than prejudice;

For international leaders to speak out to challenge voices of religious hatred and work with Pakistan to help create a culture of religious tolerance rather than intolerance.

Time slots 4:00 – 8:00 and 16:00 – 20:00

Religious minorities:

For the residents of the attacks on Joseph Colony who lost everything and for whom the fear and trauma lingers to this day;

For other Christian and religious minority communities who have been the victims of violent attacks triggered by voices of religious hatred;

For relationships between faith communities in Pakistan, particularly for the residents of Joseph Colony and their Muslim neighbours;

That God would lift the fear that religious minorities live under in Pakistan;

For those secret believers in Pakistan who feel they cannot reveal their faith publicly for fear of reprisals;

That the blasphemy laws wouldn’t be used to settle scores and become a trigger for religious hatred and violence.

Time slots 8:00 – 12:00 and 20:00 – 0:00

Activists for change:

That CSW’s Retune campaign would effectively challenge voices of religious hatred in Pakistan and make a difference in the lives of religious minorities;

For CSW’s partners who are working to change the mindsets and behaviour of religious leaders to build a society with tolerance at the centre;

For civil society groups, activists and the next generation of leaders in Pakistan who are seeking to bring about change in a very difficult setting;

That the biased curricula at schools and colleges would be tackled to promote a culture of religious and social tolerance;

That hate speech in social media is discouraged and the perpetrators are brought to justice;

For a National Council to be created to monitor and safeguard the rights of religious minorities.
