We’re hearing reports from all over China of the government’s increasing pressure on Christians and Christian activities. Church leaders have told us of their recent experiences of state repression, and their fears for the future. Last year hundreds of churches across Zhejiang province were either demolished or threatened with demolition, and many had their crosses torn down.

This week is our China Week of Prayer – find free downloadable resources on our website. Could you ask for a slot in your church on Sunday so you can lead people in prayer? If that’s not possible, share CSW’s information with your small group and ask them to pray for China. We believe that when we join our voices in prayer, God does amazing things!

This week please:

• Thank God for the incredible stories of courageous faith in the face of persecution we’ve heard from China over the years;
• Ask God to give supernatural strength and the peace that passes all understanding to Christians who are living in fear;
• Thank God for the opportunity CSW had to meet Brazilian politicians earlier this year;
• Pray that the influencers we met would use Brazil’s international clout to press for human rights to be respected in China;
• Thank God that CSW’s work to document accurately the scale of religious freedom violations in China has been reported by the UK media;
• Pray that hundreds of churches, small groups and individuals across the UK would join together in prayer for China this week.
• Pray that we’ll see miracles for China’s Christians as a result of the prayers being lifted up.
