To start 2018 we held a dedicated week of prayer for CSW, and every hour of that working week, a member of staff was in our prayer room to pray for our ministry and to listen to God. We were all really blessed by the time we spent committing our work in prayer, and this week it would be such an encouragement to us if you would spend the week covering CSW in prayer. brEvery day this week, please pray one of these verses over CSW, our staff team, our local partners, supporters, volunteers and all that we do.

Prayer Diary: Sudan

The government restricts the activities of all religious minorities. Religious organisations are required to register with the state and, since 2013, the government has imposed their own unelected committees on some Presbyterian denominations. Last year the government introduced further restrictions on Christian schools in Khartoum, and continues to arrest and intimidate religious leaders.

As we head into Easter, were praying for Pakistan, a country that desperately needs your prayers. From restrictive blasphemy laws that are often used to settle personal scores, to biased textbooks that teach children to hate those who follow different faiths other than the majority religion. Prayer Diary: Mexico

We have tried to explain the law to him the community leader of Rancho Nuevo, but he says that he doesnt respect any law. This is what we heard from a representative of a group of ten Protestant families in Rancho Nuevo village. These families have been facing problems since 2016 for not participating in their villages Roman Catholic festivals, the majority faith in the village. This is a story played out all too many times across Mexico, where religious minorities are often pressured to convert to the majority religion of their community.

Last year we told you about a group of Christians in Iran who were given excessively harsh sentences just for doing activities that Christians all over the world do every day: attending a friends wedding, having a church picnic, or taking communion. This is emblematic of the kind of intense harassment Christians face: please lift them to God in your prayers this week.

Prayer Diary: Vietnam

In 2017 we received many distressing reports about freedom of religion or belief violations in Vietnam. These included harassment, intimidation, forced eviction, intrusive surveillance, disruption of religious services, confiscation of Bibles, religious leaflets, items used for church services, etc, arrest, imprisonment, torture and extra-judicial killing. Its a deeply worrying situation, and were working with many activists both inside and outside Vietnam to help end this violence.
