Please continue to pray for the Christian communities in northern and central Nigeria who live under the threat of attack, particularly at Christmas.

Thank You Lord for the increasing breakthroughs by the security services in the fight against Boko Haram. We ask that the hearts and minds of Boko Haram members would be transformed and that they would embrace the path of peace and reconciliation

This week, please:

• Pray that God would assist the security services to uncover terrorist networks and to prevent attacks from happening. Pray that they would deal sensitively with civilians during counter insurgency operations and that the Government of Nigeria and the international community would respond effectively to the threat posed by Boko Haram to peace and security in the region.
• Pray for strong relationships to develop between Christian and Muslim communities, and for the emergence of a strong sense of common citizenship and interdependency.
• Pray for the survivors of recent attacks by Boko Haram and of night assaults on villages, that God would bring healing and restoration, and would protect vulnerable communities in remote areas.
• Ask God to strengthen His Church in Nigeria. In light of the recent shooting of a family of three after they left a church service in Maiduguri, pray that He would surround His people as they travel to and from church
• Ask God to particularly protect churches and Christians in northern and central Nigeria in the lead up to the Christmas period, and during Christmas and New Year services.
• Ask God to protect, strengthen and guide Mrs Kaneng Gyang Fulani, recently elected to the Plateau State House of Assembly in place of her husband, who was killed when a funeral he attended was attacked in July.
