North Korea is one of the world’s most repressive regimes, where Christians and others suffer grinding persecution. Lift them up in fervent prayer this fortnight.

This week, please pray:

• Lord, thank you so much for the opportunity for Shin Dong-Hyuk, who escaped from a North Korean labour camp, to share his testimony with political and religious leaders in the UK and Europe.
• Please keep praying for Shin as he works hard to spread the word in the international community about atrocities in North Korea.
• Pray for Jeremy Browne, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Archbishop of Canterbury as they reflect on what they heard from Shin.
• Pray that the guards in prison and labour camps would be filled with compassion for the prisoners, and would turn away from inflicting torture and brutality on them.
• Pray that the International Coalition to Stop Crimes Against Humanity in North Korea (ICNK), which CSW has helped to establish, will quickly gather more support.
• Pray that the enforced idol worship in North Korea would be ended, and that everyone in the country would have the freedom to believe.
• Thank God that he is a God of freedom and justice, and that this is his will for the people of North Korea.
