Our Public Affairs team is an essential part of CSW. They’re the ones who work with politicians and institutions like the UN and the EU to make sure our first-class research reaches the people in power. They meet MPs, MEPs and UN representatives to brief them on religious freedom developments around the world, and make policy recommendations.

Their work isn’t easy. Politicians have a lot of issues which need their attention, and even when policy recommendations are taken up, they can take a long time to have an effect. But the team’s steady work has had amazing successes for religious freedom over the years!

This week please:

• Thank God for blessing CSW with people who are passionate about religious freedom and knowledgeable about politics;
• Thank God for the good relationships the team has built with key decision-makers around the world;
• Pray for favour as the team meets country representatives at the UN to discuss religious freedom;
• Thank God for processes at the UN which allow each member state’s human rights record to be examined;
• Pray that the team in CSW’s Brussels office would have productive meetings with EU representatives;
• Pray that the people the team meets would read our reports carefully and be moved to act;
• Pray for strengthened partnerships with other organisations, resulting in new, creative initiatives for religious freedom.
