Next week we’re launching our new toolkit designed to help MPs raise freedom of religion or belief as effectively as possible in parliament. It’s a special pack filled with all the information they need, from a comprehensive introduction to religious freedom to a country-by-country breakdown of the main concerns.
- Sunday 14 October
Let’s begin by thanking God for all the opportunities CSW has had to raise freedom of religion or belief concerns in parliament. This has often led to strong action being taken to improve the lives of people affected by these issues.
- Monday 15 October
Please pray for next week’s launch of our new parliamentary toolkit – pray that many MPs and peers would take time out of their busy schedules to attend the event, and for fruitful conversations with our staff who will be there.
- Tuesday 16 October
Back in June CSW was at the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. Pray that those who attended would continue to be inspired by what they heard, and it would inform their priorities going in the New Year.
- Wednesday 17 October
More and more MPs are making use of our research: today thank God for a growing and strengthening network of MPs and peers standing up for freedom of religion or belief, and ask him to continue building on that work.
- Thursday 18 October
Give thanks for Lord Ahmad’s appointment in July 2018 as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, and pray that God would bless him with wisdom and courage as he goes about his work.
- Friday 19 October
Today, join us in praying that the UK government would continue to make freedom of religion or belief a human rights priority in foreign policy, as it meets with other countries and speak at international institutions such as the UN and the EU.
- Saturday 20 October
Lord, thank you so much for all the ways in which we can see you in our work in parliament. We ask that you would continue to bless our work, and that you would grant wisdom, strength and courage to the Prime Minister and Foreign Office ministers, as well as UK diplomats abroad. Amen.
