This Advent, we’re taking each week to gather Bible verses together to pray over a particular country where we work. This week we’re standing with the people of China: pray with us.
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall; for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37: 23-24)
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” (Lamentation 3: 56-57)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. (Psalm 5:11)
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Heavenly Father, we lift the nation of China to you in prayer on this first week of Advent. Thank you for all those who persevere in their faith despite the intense pressure on them, and we ask that you would protect them and fill them with your strength. Amen.
