42 seconds changed our family

CCTV footage shows the moment that five black SUVs, two motorcycles and 15 men wearing black balaclavas took just 42 seconds to abduct Pastor Raymond Koh on a street in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia in broad daylight. An eyewitness described the February 2017 incident as ‘something out of a movie’.

Pastor Raymond hasn’t been seen or heard from since that day four years ago. His family is still seeking answers, fighting for justice and continuing to trust that God will help them find the truth.

Pastor Raymond’s activities had drawn the attention of the authorities for some time before his abduction. In 2004 he founded Harapan Komuniti (Hope Community), a NGO that provides social and charitable assistance to marginalised and underprivileged communities. In 2011, a dinner organised by the NGO was raided by 30 officers from the Selangor Islamic Religious Department after the organisers were accused of ‘proselytising Muslims’. Pastor Koh’s family received death threats in the aftermath - once he received a box of bullets in the post. Despite this, Pastor Raymond continued to carry out his ministry work bravely until his abduction. Pastor Raymond’s family believe that he was abducted in an attempt to silence him.

Susanna Koh, Pastor Raymond's wife, shares their story...

You can pray for Pastor Raymond, Susanna and their children using the prayer below:

Almighty and all-knowing God, we bring before you all those who have been abducted or forced to disappear against their will. Their whereabouts may be unknown to us Lord, but they are not hidden from you.

Lord, may your right hand hold them fast.

You know each of them intimately: you know when they sit and when they rise, and you have counted every hair on their head. We ask that you would extend your protection around them today and command your angels to guard them in all their ways.

Lord, may your right hand hold them fast.

Send your Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to the families of those who have been abducted. Grant them peace in the uncertainty, and strength in the waiting. As they seek audiences with those who can give them answers, may you deliver justice and truth.

Lord, may your right hand hold them fast.

Sovereign God, we plead the case of all who have been abducted or forcibly disappeared and are still missing. Stand on the side of the righteous, Lord, and come quickly to bring deliverance we pray.

Lord, may your right hand hold them fast.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
