Become a rep

Being a CSW Representative is all about informing your Church about the persecution, discrimination and harassment millions of people experience simply because of what they choose to believe. You’re our voice in hundreds of churches around the country, telling others about global religious freedom and inspiring them to take action. Quite simply, CSW couldn’t do its work without Reps!  If you become a Rep, you’ll play an indispensable part of the advocacy work we do day-in, day-out.

"I love being a CSW Rep because my passion is to see believers in the UK speak out for those who have no voice.  To be a voice for the voiceless and to see the plight of our suffering family higher up on the church agenda” Paul Carpenter, CSW Rep, Cardiff

Millions of Christians and other religious minorities around the world face harassment, discrimination and violence just because of what they believe. Mobilising the Church in the UK to take action on their behalf is one of the most effective ways we can fight this problem. And that’s where our Reps come in.

How will you help me be a CSW Rep?

We’ll give you everything you need to mobilise your church – from prayer points to fundraising packs to ideas for talks. We even run training and information days. You’ll be helping your church to live out the scriptural mandate to

“remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering” Hebrews 13:3 NIV.

The best thing is that it’s easy!  There’s no minimum or maximum time commitment and we’ve got lots of suggestions and support for you.

What would I do as a CSW Rep?

You would keep your church informed about the issues of religious freedom – we’ll send you regular news and updates – and give people easy ways to get involved.
Reps help by:

  • Showing solidarity: encouraging small groups to use our address book, Connect & Encourage, to write cards of support to someone who’s suffering because of their beliefs;
  • Mobilising activists: collecting signatures for campaign petitions;
  • Raising prayer: bringing prayer needs to church members;
  • Spreading the word: booking a CSW speaker for a church service;
  • Being an ambassador for CSW: publicising CSW events to church members;
  • Providing for CSW’s work: organising small events to raise funds.

Each Rep brings their own unique flavour and personality to CSW, which leaves you entirely free to make best use of your gifts in God’s service!

And you’ll always have Jill Coombe, CSW’s Supporter Relationship Manager, only a phone call away to answer your queries.
